South Carolina – Irmo LL fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-2 loss to Tennessee Smith Co LL on Monday. Tennessee Smith Co LL scored on a fielder’s choice by Evan King and a double by Eddie Rivera in the second inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Tennessee Smith Co LL pitchers struck out six, while South Carolina – Irmo LL sat down three.

Tennessee Smith Co LL fired up the offense in the second inning, when Lance Jensen induced King to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Westen Vance was on the mound for Tennessee Smith Co LL. The pitcher lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out six and walking one.

Jensen was on the hill for South Carolina – Irmo LLJensen allowed four hits and three runs over two and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero. Colby Smith and Jake Jester entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and two innings respectively.

South Carolina – Irmo LL racked up eight hits in the game. Jacob Nerone and Trevin Garner all collected multiple hits for South Carolina – Irmo LLGarner and Nerone each collected two hits to lead South Carolina – Irmo LL.

Tristan Wood went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Tennessee Smith Co LL in hits.
