South Carolina – Irmo Little League grabbed an early lead on its way to an 8-2 victory over West Virginia – Shinnston Little League on Sunday. South Carolina – Irmo Little League scored on a single by Coleman Bland in the first inning, a single by Julian Scott in the first inning, a error in the first inning, and a error in the second inning.

South Carolina – Irmo Little League notched three runs in the fifth inning. Lawson Davis, Jermaine Bruce, and Gavin McMillion all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Davis earned the victory on the hill for South Carolina – Irmo Little League. He went three and a third innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking one. Bland threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bland recorded the last 11 outs to earn the save for South Carolina – Irmo Little League.

Coby Gorby took the loss for West Virginia – Shinnston Little League. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out two and walking zero.

McMillion led South Carolina – Irmo Little League with two hits in four at bats.

Johnny Lopez went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead West Virginia – Shinnston Little League in hits.
